At a glance

A flexible visual task and project organizer.

Flow is a browser-based Kanban and task-management application from Pyips. It works immediately as a guest, and an optional free Pyips account can additionally open server-backed Flow data for a Space.

What Flow is

Task management that can stay simple or become detailed.

Flow starts with boards, sections, and task cards. From there, a workspace can use subtasks, notes, tags, multiple boards, custom sections, Queue capture, bulk selection, paused tasks, completion tracking, backups, and other tools when they are useful.

The application does not require every board or task to use the same amount of structure. A small personal list and a detailed project can exist in the same workspace without forcing either one into a different workflow.

Why it is designed this way

Flexible without making routine work harder.

Many task tools are either easy to start but limiting later, or large project systems that require significant setup. Flow is intended to sit between those extremes.

Features are added when they solve a practical workflow problem, but the board remains the main interface. Settings and advanced systems stay separate from ordinary task work so the application can grow without turning every task card into a control panel.

Useful before complex

A feature should solve a real problem before it earns permanent space in the interface.

Flexible workflows

Boards and sections should adapt to the work instead of requiring one prescribed project method.

Recoverable data

Storage and backup behavior should be visible, testable, and designed around preserving user work.

Data and accounts today

One Flow, with accounts optional.

You can use Flow without creating an account. Guest workspace data remains in the browser and the existing manual and supported automatic file-backup tools remain available.

A free Pyips account is optional and does not, by itself, move your local workspace to a server. What it adds is Spaces: a Space with Flow enabled can be opened from the Account window, as a read-only preview or, with edit access, as an editable session where Task and Sub-task title, notes, creation, and deletion are saved through Pyips. Your local browser workspace stays separate throughout. The Privacy & Data page explains this in more detail.

Development

Flow is under active development.

Flow changes frequently as existing systems are refined and new ones are added. The Changelog records shipped releases, the Features page describes what is available now, and the Roadmap describes planned direction without treating ideas as release-date commitments.

The browser application remains the main Flow client. The first Django account/server foundation is now in place; richer cross-device behavior, server History, sharing, mobile/desktop clients, and a future PostgreSQL/VPS move remain later work.

About Pyips

Flow is the first public application from Pyips.

Pyips is an independent software project focused on practical applications for organizing work and solving everyday problems. Flow is the first public product, but Pyips is intended to support additional applications rather than exist as a one-product site.

More information about Pyips is available at pyips.com. New products will be added there when they are developed far enough to be useful.
