Task management that can stay simple or become detailed.
Buds starts with boards, sections, and task cards. From there, a workspace can use subtasks, notes, tags, multiple boards, custom sections, Queue capture, bulk selection, paused tasks, completion history, backups, and other tools when they are useful.
The application does not require every board or task to use the same amount of structure. A small personal list and a detailed project can exist in the same workspace without forcing either one into a different workflow.
Flexible without making routine work harder.
Many task tools sit at one of two extremes: they are easy to start but become limiting as work gets more complicated, or they provide a large project-management system that requires significant setup before it becomes useful. Buds is intended to sit between those extremes.
Features are added when they solve a practical workflow problem, but the board remains the main interface. Settings and advanced systems are kept separate from ordinary task work so the application can grow without turning every task card into a control panel.

Storage and backup behavior should be visible, testable, and designed around preserving user work.
The current Buds release is local-first.
Buds does not currently require an account, and the working task workspace is not stored on a Pyips server. The browser stores the active workspace on the device where Buds is being used. Buds also provides manual backups and, on supported browsers, automatic file backups to a location the user approves.
This model will change as account, server-storage, and synchronization systems are developed. Those systems are not being presented as current capabilities before they exist. The Privacy & Data page describes the storage model used by the current release.
Buds is under active development.
Buds changes frequently as existing systems are refined and new ones are added. The Changelog records shipped releases, the Features page describes what is available now, and the Roadmap describes planned direction without treating ideas as release-date commitments.
The current browser application is the main Buds client. Future account infrastructure, server-backed storage, synchronization, and additional application clients are planned as the product develops.
Buds is the first public application from Pyips.
Pyips is an independent software project focused on practical applications for organizing work and solving everyday problems. Buds is the first public product, but Pyips is intended to support additional applications rather than exist as a one-product site.
